It has been quite a long time since I last watch a Japanese movie. Most of which are pretty depressing plus boring. Thus I never expect anything from Confessions either.
When the first scene started I was like "has the movie started yet? How long this ads gonna last?" Little did I know that it is the starting of the movie.
This is by far the best movie I'd ever watched, Japanese or not. You got to watch Confessions before you give any critics cause this movie deserves all the awards and nominations given.
The main character of this whole movie is a teacher played by Takako Matsuo, she's a singer by the way. She acted so brilliantly in this, full credits for her. This movie is based on Kanae Minato's 2008 best selling novel "Kokuhaku". It started something like this:
Middle school teacher Yoko Moriguchi's (Takako Matsu) life comes crashing down after the murder of her 4 year old daughter. Eventually Yoko Moriguchi suspects some of her own students to have been responsible for her daughter's death. An elaborate plan for revenge then ensues, including forcing students to drink HIV tainted milk ...
Did I get your attention even a bit? Well, I don't wanna spoil this just go order/download and watch it. My final says:
Gorgeously brilliant! Mind blowing, freakishly amazing. This is the best movie ever! Grateful that I got the opportunity to watch this movie. Worth every single minute I spent watching.
